HAYDON VAUGHAN JOINS ALDERSHOT TOWN
MY JOURNEY CONTINUES
From joining The SB Academy at age 12 to now leaving the first team at 18, Bracknell has done nothing but make me the best version of myself. Since joining the club, I knew I was at home, not only as a player but as a person. My time at Bracknell town has taught me to never give up. At the age of 15, I ruptured my ACL, lost all confidence and belief, but little did I know this was where my journey would finally start. I put in the hard work and got myself back out on the pitch playing again, and Bracknell kept their confidence in me. When I got back out there, soon I was with the Sandhurst Town 1st team, the second step from the Academy, and from that point, I knew that I had made the steps forward that I wanted to achieve when I first joined the club.
At Sandhurst, we won the league last season. I started the majority of the games and scored 15+ goals. During an impressive pre-season, I made the next step forward and signed for Bracknell Town 1st team. I was 3/4 of the way through my progress and now feel I am ready continue my journey at Aldershot Town.
In the last 15 games of the 2023/24 season, I was part of an impossible playoff run that we managed to secure on the final day. I was starting games and scoring goals, which massively benefited my progress. This is when I knew I had completed all the steps that were set for me when I became part of the club at the age of 12.
Being part of the first team this season has seen my performances skyrocket, I have seen a version of myself that I never thought was possible. The main reason for my improvement in form is down to Jordan Ive, an inspirational figure not only in the changing room but also on the side-lines, proving many of his doubters wrong over the past 2 years. I have worked closely with Jordan at both Sandhurst Town and Bracknell Town. The players, the management team, and of course, Lam at Bracknell have made me feel very welcome this season. It has really felt like every game has meant so much more as we play for each other and not as individuals.
Being part of this team has been incredible, and it feels like family to me. The fans have also been unbelievable this season with support for me and this team staying positive even through the hard times and keeping the spirits high and still coming to every game possible.
And finally, Kayne and Louie for looking after me and my family during my time at the club and making everything I do possible. Thank you to everyone who has helped me to progress; I will be forever be appreciative.
All the best for the future.
Haydon
Come on you Robins
