A Farewell from the Chairman
Dear Bracknell Town FC community,
Our family’s journey with the club is coming to an end, but it has been filled with cherished memories.
While my in-laws and my wife Sophie have been connected to the club since the ’60s and ’70s, I officially joined ten years ago after spending 15 years as a frequent visitor. My involvement with the club began at Step 6, under the management of my father-in-law, Steve McClurg. We have worked tirelessly, both on and off the field to turn this club around and get it onto a more positive footing with a clear direction and platform for future success. .
Reflecting on the early days, I remember a small, devoted community of fans who remained loyal to Bracknell through challenging times. Witnessing their joy as we lifted the club out of the lower ranks of the NLS has been truly rewarding.
Reaching the playoffs at Step 3 for the past two seasons is a testament to how far we have come in the past decade. Although we didn’t achieve our ultimate goal of Vanarama Football, we take immense pride in the progress we have made together, both on and off the field.
During the transition period, I will continue to serve as Transitional Chairman until the FA and League review and approve the new Chairman & CEO, Andy Hunt. However, this process must be completed before the 2024/25 Season starts. Therefore, my tenure as Chairman will conclude on or around August 1st.
Additionally, our Club secretary, Louie SB, will step down from his role once a suitable replacement has been found before the new season begins. We are confident that the search for a new secretary will be successful, ensuring a seamless transition for the club.
We want to thank the entire Bracknell Town FC community for your unwavering support, dedication, and passion. Because of every one of you, we have been able to achieve the progress we have made. With Andy Hunt’s new leadership and the community’s continued support, we are confident that Bracknell Town FC will continue to thrive and reach new heights.
Thank you for being a part of this incredible journey. We hold the memories we have created together close to our hearts and wish Bracknell Town FC continued success in the future.
Sincerely,
Kayne SB
Outgoing Chairman of Bracknell Town FC
