Bracknell complete yet another comeback to stun Sholing!

Seb Bowerman’s added time double earned Bracknell Town their first win of 2026, courtesy of 3 added time goals. Seb Bowerman put in a great delivery early on from a free kick won by Jahiem Dotse which was headed goalwards by Jack McDowell, forcing a stunning save from Sholing stopper Magnus Norman. Despite Bracknell’s efforts, it was Sholing who broke the deadlock. A lightning fast counter attack from back to front ended with Vinnie Tume’s shot being saved by Oualah but McCarthy was on hand to poke home. Shortly after Higgs double the visitors lead leaving Bracknell with a big task on their hands. Bracknell went on the front foot for the remainder of the half, but their persistence on scoring was unrewarded and Sholing went into the interval 2 goals ahead.

The Robins came out swinging to start the second 45. A ball across by debutant Arthur Gregory was rifled goalwards by Jack Mazzone, but another impressive save by Norman denied Bracknell the goal to cut Sholing’s lead in half. George Knight had the ball in the Sholing net just after the hour mark, but it was chalked off for offside. Bracknell continued to push for their opening goal, but solid defending by the Boatmen kept Bracknell goalless heading into the final 15 minutes of the game. Finally, after countless efforts, Bracknell found the back of the net with less than 10 minutes to go to. Gregory’s ball into the box was stabbed goalwards and converted by Giovanni McGregor, making the impossible seem possible. Just when it seemed out of reach, Gabe George fired Bracknell level came up with the heroics, scoring a brace consisting of 2 blinders from range in added time to put the game to bed and complete one of the comebacks of the season.

After the game, Bracknell manager Carl Davies said“Even at 2 nil down we kept our identity, kept doing what we know we can do…I didn’t think we would leave it as late as we did, but once we got the (first) goal we were ruthless.”
