Away Day Rough Guide to …….. Easington Sports FC

So what do we know about this Ground? Another new ground for us this one. No floodlights, hard standing or covered seating so not suitable for Easington to move up higher in the leagues – does have a club house though so we can get a beer. There was talk at some time about them moving to Bodicote Park the home of Banbury RUFC, where there are full floodlight pitches, not sure if this is still on though.

History: Easington Sports F.C. , ‘The Clan’ are based in the Easington ward of Banbury. The club was established in 1945 and first joined the Hellenic League Division One A in 1971. They have spent over thirty years in the lower divisions of the Hellenic League without ever winning the title, their best finish was 3rd place in the 1974–75 season.

Suggs’ Prediction for 2012-13: 2nd - moving across after 12 years in the stonger Hellenic Div 1 West into the East for this season these guys are very much an unknown, they did finish 6th in their league last season though. A good pre-season win against Kidlington, though were also on the end of a 5-0 loss against a very strong Witney side. I think these guys will be one of the teams to watch this term.

Directions: From North/South M40- Leave M40 at J11, follow A422 to Banbury, 2nd roundabout take A4260 to Adderbury. Go through three sets of traffic lights, at top of hill at T-junction turn left. Take 3rd right into Addison Road.
