Shortwood United 5 – 0 Bracknell Town (HPL)

Bracknell Town were beaten 5-0 at Meadowbank last night by Shortwood United in the Uhlsport Hellenic Premier League. Lack of signal at the ground meant unfortunately we were unable to provide the usual updates on twitter.

Report to follow but we would like to draw everyone to the following comment on the unofficial Hellenic League forum from a Shortwood fan about the match last night…

Bit of a funny won this! 5-0 on paper looks a real roasting but it wasn’t! Wood 2-0 up and to be fair could have been double that. Suddenly Bracknell get a pen and blaze it out the ground.

2nd half attacked us with a will and played some great footie! Wood scored 3rd against run of play and ran in 2 more at the death. The fact tha we made our keeper mom says a lot. Got some great youngsters at BT and they play some terrific football!

Yes, but the fact is that the Robins are bottom. Nice football doesn’t do much good at this level. Whose going to sort out this latest mess?

Neal, thanks for that.

I’ll bite.

Everyone at the club is working their wotsits off to try and improve the club and get us going in the right direction.

I disagree it is a mess. It is a new young but talented squad who will improve.

Everyone is doing it for free.

If you happen to know someone who can come in and invest a few bob and see us all right then by all means..

But until that day we will all carry on (committee/players/managers) doing everything we can to keep the club up and going.
