It all clicked for Bracknell Town today as they ran out 2-0 winners at home to Southern League Division 1 side Ashford Town.
Bracknell were penned back in the first half and mustered only one decent chance which Harry Swabey hit straight at the goalkeeper.
Tom Nugent though turned the tide early in the second half with a trademark headed goal to edge Bracknell in front.
Minutes later he waltzed through the Ashford defence and slotted past Paul McCarthy, only for Bracknell to be awarded a penalty for handball which Swabey duly slotted away.

Fantastic result and effort from the lads today.
We’ve come through six tough friendlies and finished off with a well deserved win.
Roll on start of the season!

Added line up. Unfortunately I had to leave before the end so if anyone came on after Jose, Duds will fill it in.

Excellent performance and a culmination of a tough pre-season. Wwe now need to carry that momentum into the season that starts next Saturday away to Witney Town. Well done lads!

A well deserved victory against a side who beat Ascot 3-1 a few days earlier.
Pre-season was really hard with 6 tough matches and although we lost the first five of them we had played some good football but faded at the end of each match.
Camberley, Windsor and Winchester all started their league season on Saturday so were a week ahead of us in preparation too.
I think we will reap the benefits of this and will surprise a few people this season.
Our average squad age is only 22 so we could be the youngest team in the league but I am looking forward to the new season.
