Tomorrow sees the start of this year's Arsenal International Soccer festival
at the Royal Holloway College in Egham.
Bracknell will be fielding a young squad and have elected to play in the
Under 19 competition, which will provide a stiff pre-season test for the
lads.
First up is Hayes & Yeading tomorrow, who have been Allied Counties
Premier champions on many occasions. Haringey Borough, from London,
follow on Sunday morning, before facing Elite Sports from Walthamstow
on Tuesday evening.
If you've never been to the tournament it is superbly organised, with three
officials allocated to each match.
Come along and take a look at this year's crop of young talent - time for a
relaxing, mid-morning brunch of burger and ice cream before heading
down the A30 to Camberley for the first team friendly at Krooner Park
(3pm k-off).

Arsenal tournament U19s update:
Bracknell 2 Hayes & Yeading 4
Bracknell 1 Haringey Borough 3
Bracknell's newly assembled squad have found the going tough in the
Under 19 section of this year's tournament. Playing 2-3 years below their
age group was always going to be a big ask, but it will stand the lads in
good stead for the season ahead.
On Saturday morning we faced Hayes & Yeading, who looked
a more than decent academy outfit and it seemed had played together for
some time. Hayes' pace, power and movement proved difficult for a
scratch Robins team from the off. However, despite being on the back
foot, it was Bracknell who took an early lead just three minutes in with
their first attack. Lewis Way, on the left flank, found Jake White on the
angle of the penalty area and his first-time volley curled over the keeper
into the far corner. 1-0
Hayes upped their tempo and it was a mixture of good fortune from the
woodwork, last-ditch defending and some fine saves from keeper Josh
Baker. Pressure eventually told and Hayes scored two quick goals to take a
lead into the break.
Bracknell responded well after half-time and centre-back Conor Banks
made a driving forward run into the opposition box before firing low past
the keeper to level scores at 2-2.
Barely two minutes later and Hayes restored their lead before a further
goal in the closing stages made the final score 4-2.
Plenty of positives from this display against good opposition however.
Then on Sunday the Robins faced Haringey Borough. Pre-
match plans were disrupted when both centre-backs arrived late, causing
a hasty re-shuffle moments before kick-off.
Once again it was the opposition that made all the early running and,
once again, it was the Robins who took the lead. Jake White was again on
target, this time converting a penalty awarded for the keeper hauling
someone to the ground from a set piece. 1-0
Haringey continued to press and were level at the break, although
Bracknell also had further chances to add to their score. Josh Baker was
again in fine form in goal and pulled off several outstanding saves, often
from point-blank range.
The second half was a disappointing effort however. On Saturday, the
teams had been allowed to roll on and off five substitutes, but today the
rules had changed and Bracknell were forced to play the second half
unable to make further changes.
The Robins were totally overrun in midfield, as Haringey added two
further goals to their tally to make the final score 3-1. Jake White was
again the pick of Bracknell's attacking options with one pacy run
producing a fine save from the keeper and another effort that spun out of
the keeper's hands, but he was able to grab the ball before it crossed the
line.
