The Development team returned to League action this week after the disappointment of losing their unbeaten home record last week to title challengers Flackwell Heath.
This week we were faced with an away trip to basement club Eversley & California, however we warned the team that there was no room for complacency with just five games of the season to go with us level at the top with Flackwell on points but one goal worse off.
The response was immediate as we took the lead shortly after the start with a goal for Sol Orieji on his first full start.
We dominated the first half and two further goals by Dan Roberts increased our lead as we dominated the play on a tricky surface.
A further two goals by Sol Orieji and Harvey Griffiths saw us go in 5-0 up.
We discussed the importance of adding to our goal difference after the break but we started the second half slowly and were to waste a number of good opportunities in the second half, however further goals from Johan Flo and Will Kyeremeh gave us a 7-0 victory and moved us back to the top of the league.
Today saw us field four of our U18 Allied squad with Owen in goal, Sam at right back, 16 year old Josh Eatwell made his debut and almost scored when his shot came back off the post. Tom Baldwin also made a substitute appearance.
Four games left to play, a tough run in starts with a very long away trip on Thursday night away to Dunstable.
