Hellenic League Divsion 1 East side Woodley Town are searching for a new manager after Cyril Fairchild resigned.

Fairchild, who has been at Woodley for five years, led the side to third place this season, their highest ever league finish.

The festival, which raises money for Bracknell Town Football Club and is supported by a host of local companies, takes place on Sunday 26th May, starting at 1pm.

We have learned today that former Bracknell Town manager Richard Whitty has this week suffered a heart attack.

He has had a stent put in and is currently recovering in hospital.

Everyone at Larges Lane would like to wish Richard a full and speedy recovery.

Additionally, the club have hired local entertainer Matt Montana, who will be performing after the awards are handed out.

Matt put on a great show at the club before Christmas.

Paul has most recently been manager of Crusaders Boys & Girls where he guided the U14’s team to runners up position in the North East Hants League Division One in season 2010-11.

The team moved to U15’s age group and after promotion to the Premier Division of the North East Hants League, they completed the league and cup double in season 2011-12.

This past season saw them play as Crusaders Boys & Girls U16 Kings, and they secured the North East Hants League Premier Division title.

Joining Paul in the management set up is Steve O’Connor (pictured) as assistant manager.

Steve was joint manager of Bracknell Town U16’s this past season and has been involved with the Junior section of the club for a number of years.

We would like to welcome both to the youth team set up and look forward to working with them as we continue in the Allied Counties Youth Football League.

Once again, we would like to take this opportunity to thank the outgoing management team Steve Jenner and Dave Wright and thank them for their service to Bracknell Town.

The event, held at Blue Mountain Golf Club, was pulled together with the help of representatives from each club to raise money for the fund that is supporting the rehabilitation of former Aldershot Town legend Tony Calvert.

Thanks to everyone who donated, And the biggest thank you of course to Gayle Nebbett who put so much effort into arranging the event.

* This Saturday, a Robins XI featuring some old faces will take part in a tournament against Aldershot, Ash United and a combined Binfield & Wokingham XI at Aldershot Town FC

The game will also mark the end of manager Steve Jenner, and assistant Dave Wright’s successful time at the club.

Jenner, who is taking time away from football, has been one of the most successful youth managers the club as had, taking the young Robins to the FA Youth Cup First Round Proper in 2010/11 for the first time, losing 4-0 to Torquay United at Plainmoor.

Jenner’s side were crowned Allied Counties South Division champions last season after an almost unstoppable campaign that saw them beaten just once, and finish with a goal difference of +21.

Arguably Jenner’s greatest achievement, is the number of players graduating to the first team without the stepping stone of Reserve football, most notably the Barratt brothers, Tom and Sam.

The club would like to thank both Steve and Dave for their work in scouting and producing great young players, and some memorable evenings at Larges Lane.

‘Wilky’ was assistant at the Lane under Byron Walton during the clubs relegation from the Southern League, but was well thought of at the club.

Wilkinson has, according to the Oxford Mail, stepped aside as ”his position had become untenable.”

The Mail report also states they have yet to receive any comment in relation to the matter from the club.
