A solitary first half goal from captain Jim Ward gave visiting Bedfont Green victory over Bracknell Town tonight (Tuesday).
Chris Henry's 6th minute corner was met by Ward who ran into the penalty area unopposed to send his bullet header beyond Kyle Bradley and into the back of the net.
Both sides huffed and puffed throughout an even game but no more clear cut chances were created and neither goalkeeper had a proper save to make.
The Robins best chances were split over each half with Alex Bruce cutting the ball back to Paulo Cicero who was leaning back and couldn't keep his effort down in the 30th minute. After the break, substitute Nathan Poulton's shot was flicked goal wards by Anton Small but Jack Turner was able to smother the ball.
Bedfont had a loud penalty appeal waved away before Aaron Samuel pounced on a mix up between Kharis Lavine and Bradley but he failed to hit the target but it made no odds as his side held on to claim all three points.
Struggling Andover host Bracknell this coming Saturday before Hungerford Town visit Larges Lane next Tuesday evening.
