Bracknell Town put in a much improved showing but still found Paulton Rovers too strong tonight (Tuesday) as Rovers won with three unanswered first half goals
Firstly, Rob Cousins pounded after Oliver Woodall had lost possession and the experienced midfielder sent a 22yd swerving drive beyond Dan Smith.
The lead was doubled after Joe White rounded Gary Smith and cut the ball back to Rob Claridge who made no mistake from close range.
Cousins completed the scoring in first half injury time, putting the ball in the back of the net from what looked to be an offside position.
Manager David Tuttle handed debuts to four players - Dan Smith (goalkeeper who has played for Bracknell’s reserve side), Chris Dean (left back who has played at Burnham), Bobby Tong (midfielder who has played at Hungerford) and Jamel Forde-Small (striker and former Reading FC scholar).
The hosts found their feet in the second half and matched their opponents as the new signings gelled with Tuttle’s side performing much better than recent weeks and with a new found optimism.
Yate Town and Abingdon United are next to visit Larges Lane and the Robins play hosts on Saturday and Tuesday respectively.
